Remove the old knob
Unscrew the two visible screws on the interior side. Pull both halves away. Then unscrew the latch plate on the door edge and pull the latch out.

Install the new latch
Slide the new latch into the edge hole, curved part of the bolt facing the way the door closes. Screw the plate to the edge.

Attach the knobs
Insert the exterior knob first so its spindle and screw posts pass through the latch. Press the interior side on, line up screws, tighten evenly so it isn't cocked to one side.

Test and adjust strike plate
Close the door. If the latch doesn't catch, you may need to bend the strike plate tab slightly or shim it.
